Little Ball of Energy

"Stephanie tells me all about Kindermusik each week. Olivia is a little ball of energy when she gets home - she's dancing all over the house. I think it's been wonderful for her so far. She gets all excited when I put the kindermusik CD on and she does her "moves".  Stephanie says you are just wonderful with the kids, so patient and supportive.  Thanks again for everything."

Kathy Bailey, Owner & Director, has taught music to children for nearly a decade.

A graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, she holds a B.A. in English and earned an Effective Teacher Certificate from Meredith's Department of Education. In addition, she is Meredith trained in voice, piano, guitar, and violin. She has also studied music at Salem College, in Winston-Salem, NC.

Her parents exposed her to music and the arts at an early age. Her first piano teacher was Margaret Goldston, beloved teacher and contributor to the Alfred Music Publishing Company. Kathy holds a NC teacher's license and taught in public schools until she and her husband Rob began their family—sons David and Aaron, and daughter Lauryn. She has founded two church children's choirs which she directed for 7 years and is the founder and current director of the Voices of Hope Youth Choir at Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest. Kathy is an active member of the KEA (Kindermusik Educator's Association). One of her top priorities is touching the lives of children and adults through Kindermusik—helping families grow closer and stronger, while children grow stronger in all major developmental domains: cognitive, musical, social, emotional, physical, and linguistic.

Lisa Upchurch has a passion for children and music. Her dedication to both prompted her to enroll her own son Max (3) in Kindermusik and faithfully tote her daughters, Maddie (10) and Isabelle (7) to weekly piano lessons. A graduate of NC State Univeristy with a degree in Communications and a minor in business management, Lisa has found that her most rewarding role is being a mother.  As a stay-at-home mom of 10 years and counting, Lisa cherishes the opportunity to be very involved in her childrens' activities and their individual development.  She subscribes to the Kindermusik belief that the parent is the child's best teacher, and she also believes that a love and appreciation for music are an instrumental step toward healthy development. With that in mind, she is often found singing and making up songs with her children throughout the day. She loves to see children smile and enjoys making a difference in the lives of children by teaching Kindermusik classes and being an active and enhusiastic member of Hope Lutheran Church, where she helped develop the current children's ministry program and activities.
